But facts come out fast, Angel falls in love with Rose Rose, a black young woman that was ripped by her own father and it is now when Angel ask his father for help and Homer changes his mind and practices his first abortion. He urges her to face the truth but she is afraid and rather conventional. ItвЂ™s CandyвЂ™s time to take a decision and she marries Wally though Homer and she become lovers.

The war is over and Wally is back home, he has survived but he is tetraplejic. When they come back home they pretend they have adopted Angel. They have a child, Angel, and go to St Clouds.

Candy and Homer are free to love each other as Wally is missing. The drama comes when Candy must decide between Homer or Wally, but the war breaks out and Wally is sent to the Pacific. Mr Larch if a Doctor who after a terrible experience with a prostituye and, after witnessing in which condition women had abortion, decides to help women to cope with both their unwanted children or abortion, in the case they didnвЂ™t want to have them. The novel takes part in USA between the two wars period.
